Wilshire Presbyterian Church
 

A neighborhood ministry at the corner of Third and Western in Los Angeles since 1912

Wilshire Presbyterian Church is a multicultural, English speaking Christian fellowship (approximately 100 active churchgoers) located in the heart of the Koreatown/Wilshire Center area of Los Angeles, California. We have church services every Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. Wilshire provides pastoral care, food bank services, a parish nurse, and music instruction to neighborhood children, as well as hosting several AA chapters and the Plymouth preschool on our premises.

Our interim pastor is Rev. Dr. Charles Svendsen who is assisting us in day-to-day operations with excellent preaching and care.

Our mission is to be a beacon of hope and a sanctuary in the city where all peoples are invited to know and honor God; where all seekers are called to be disciples of Christ; and where, in the Spirit, we offer all neighbors a path to wholeness through love and acceptance.

About Wilshire Presbyterian

Founded in 1912, Wilshire is an intimate community of believers in the Reformed tradition committed to a life of service to community. Our theology and worship style is traditional and Bible centered, with congregational singing, pipe organ accompaniment, choir and soloist, and acoustic instruments, with occasional services featuring praise and contemporary musical stylings.

Preaching is from the Old and New Testament lectionary readings for the day or upon topics chosen by the pastor to edify the church.

The church office is open from 9 a.m to 3 p.m., Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Directions

From I-10: Take Western Avenue exit; head north 3.5 miles; turn east on 3rd Street; turn right on Oxford; turn right immediately into the parking lot. We are on the southeast corner.

From the Hollywood Fwy: Take Western Avenue exit; head south 2 miles; turn east on 3rd Street; turn right on Oxford; turn right immediately into the parking lot.
