QueensCare and WPC will host cholesterol and blood sugar screenings at the church on Sunday, June 21, 2009. Cost for screening will be $5. Screenings will be held in the library from 8:30 to 11:45 a.m. in the library.

Preparation: Call 323-644-6180 for an appointment and drink 6-8 glasses of water the night before.

Heart, Hypertension, and Cholesterol Presentation

A presentation on the heart, hypertension, and cholesterol in the social hall at noon during the coffee hour; there is no charge for the presentation. Presenter is Linda Tavorian. No sign-up or appointment is necessary for this presentation.

 

Spring 2009 — WPC continues in the process of  calling a new pastor. During the period of the interim pastorship the church will be doing the following:

· Completing a mission study

· Posting the opening

· The congregation will form a pastor nominating committee who will review dossiers and eventually recommend a candidate to the congregation

· The congregation will vote to approve and “call” the candidate

· The presbytery will vote to approve the call for candidate

The process of starting a mission study will be taken up during the summer months..
