Marja Strohm Hired as Music Director

Sept. 1, LOS ANGELES: We are pleased to announce that Marja Strohm has been engaged as WPC's new music director. Her duties include directing the choir, providing service music as organist, and teaching and administrating for the Wilshire Music Academy.

Ms. Strohm is a credentialed music educator with experience as a teacher, director, and performer. She is a graduate of the USC Thornton School of Music and California State University.

Church Retreat Advances Pastoral Search

Aug. 14, LOS ANGELES: There were approximately 50 attendees at the recent Saturday church retreat to review and affirm the work of the Mission Study Team which has been meeting in preparation for the pastor search process.

Facilitators from Pacific Presbytery moderated  the half-day session and will synthesize surveys, opinions, and comments made by attendees at the retreat regarding our mission. The Presbytery report will then be used to accurately describe WPC's mission and commitment to potential candidates for the pastor position.
